For the event

Why is a painting considered great?
How often have you wondered why a certain painting is significant—why people stop to admire it, what makes it special, and whether there’s more to it than just personal taste? These are the questions that Kaloyan Angelov, a young composer and art enthusiast, will explore in his unique lecture-seminar with live music.

We’ll take a closer look at six masterpieces by great artists—Turner, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Bierstadt, Rochegrosse, and Caravaggio. You’ll learn about their lives, the historical contexts they lived in, and how these influenced their work.

Each painting will be accompanied by an original musical composition created specifically for it. Three of these are by Kaloyan himself, and the other two by guest performers. The goal is not just analysis, but a full immersion into the world of each artwork, combining sound and image.

Join us for a journey through art in its many forms—visual, historical, and musical. We look forward to seeing you there!
