Greek heavy rock visionaries VILLAGERS OF IOANNINA CITY return to Sofia with Venceremos – their bold and captivating new studio album, due out on September 18, 2026 via Napalm Records.

 

Expanding their musical universe beyond their roots, the band presents the most ambitious and conceptually rich work of their career to date, combining heavy rock, progressive metal, distinctive folkloric and Hellenistic motifs into a raw, direct and intense musical experience.

 

Set in a dystopian future marked by illusions, control and fear, Venceremos becomes a journey through exile, resistance and awakening, following those who rise up against a broken world, rejecting gods and modern kings to reclaim their freedom and meaning in life. Through the struggles, hopes, fears and deep reflections on existence, one truth remains constant: the path is one, and its name is freedom. Driven by epic guitars, pulsating basslines and layered traditional instruments, VILLAGERS OF IOANNINA CITY build a dense, captivating atmosphere where powerful heavy rock meets ritualistic psychedelia. “‘Ghosts in the Sky’ is the vessel that holds all our hopes and dreams,” the band reveals. “It is a call to stand together in the face of fear, where hope travels like a distant star and freedom is worth every fight.
