“Giants” is the result of three years of work by director Hristo Petkov and producer Kalin Iliev, who filmed over 200 hours of material from more than 20 locations in Bulgaria. The camera follows not only the daily work of the volunteers, but also the spirit, philosophy and power of unity around a simple but significant idea – that each of us can be a hero.
The film has already received recognition from the festival community and was selected for the Sofia Film Fest program. It is distinguished by its dynamics, positive charge and strong human stories that touch the viewer beyond the documentary form.
Every year in our country, dozens of young people suddenly lose their lives from cardiac arrest. In such cases, the first 3–5 minutes are crucial. Access to a defibrillator can be the difference between salvation and the loss of a human life.
Through "Giants" and ticket revenues, the initiative aims to provide this opportunity - not only for students and teachers, but also for parents and residents of the respective neighborhoods, as each device will be publicly accessible.
