🎬 The initiative "Three Films with a Message" introduces the Bulgarian audience to contemporary European cinema and three award-winning productions by young authors, who are already attracting the attention of the international festival scene at the Karlovy Vary IFF, Tokyo IFF, Dark Nights IFF in Tallinn and many others. 🎭 The three titles combine comedy, absurdity and realism, and examine topics that excite young European artists today - growing up, friendship, personal choice and women's rights. 🎞 "I Promise Everything Will Be Alright" (91 min., dir. Katarina Gramatova, Slovakia/Czech Republic) follows 15-year-old Enrique, who spends his summer with friends and runs errands for his mother. When he realizes that his tasks are not as honorable as he believed, he is faced with a difficult moral choice between loyalty to his family and his own values. 🚚 “Greek Peaches” (20 min., Jan Krevatin, Croatia) tells the story of Mac, a young man who works the night shift at a gas station, and meets Nada, a female truck driver.
The two grow closer because of their common roots and find solace in each other in an attempt to escape loneliness. ✊ “Berta” (17 min., Lucia Forner Segara, Spain) presents the story of a young woman determined to make a man from her past realize the pain he caused her and seek justice. ⏱ The total duration of the films is 128 minutes. After the screening, there will be a discussion and a live conversation with the audience, dedicated to the path of young artists in contemporary European cinema. 🎟 Admission is free. 🇪🇺 The project is implemented by Rubekula OOD with funding under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, procedure BG-RRP-11.024 - Grant Scheme "Presentation to the Bulgarian public of contemporary European productions from the cultural and creative industries sector", project No. BG-RRP-11.024-0062, funded by the European Union - Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.
