Do I want or do I need?

The difference between “I want” and “I need” is like the difference between surface and depth – one comes from the mind, the other – from the essence.

 

✅ “I want” sounds categorical. It is clear, dynamic, socially formed. Our desires are often visible, concrete – we want success, recognition, love, things, experiences.

 

🌀 “I need” is quiet, often elusive. Our true needs do not always coincide with our external aspirations. Some of them are so deeply suppressed that we do not even recognize them.

 

🔹 We want to be liked, but we need to be understood.

 

🔹 We want control, but we need security.

 

🔹 We want change, but we need stability.

 

The fear of need makes us silence it. Desire is easier – it can be pursued, achieved, replaced. But need? It demands vulnerability. It demands that we recognize it, that we cannot give ourselves everything.

 

In this seminar, we will explore how to distinguish desires from needs and how to connect with them.

 

Part One | Astrological Study with the Sun and the Moon

In astrology, the Sun and the Moon symbolize two fundamental principles that shape our inner world – the archetypes of the Father and the Mother.

 

🌙 The Moon is associated with the unconscious, intuition and the inner world. It symbolizes emotions, memory, instinctive reactions, subconscious patterns and the ways in which we seek security and comfort.

 

☀️ The Sun is the will, identity and life energy. It symbolizes the conscious Self, purpose, self-confidence and the way in which we express ourselves in the world. The Sun is the inner fire, the driving force behind our ambitions and the pursuit of self-realization.

 

💫 But what happens when the Moon – our emotional security – is shaken?

When its needs are not met, the Sun often remains suppressed. If there is no sense of inner stability and belonging, it is difficult for us to unleash our true power and follow our essence.

 

In this part, we will examine the position and relationship between the Sun and the Moon in the natal chart and how this affects the dynamics between our desires and needs.

 

Part Two | Art Therapy Exploration of Desires and Needs

❓ If we remove fear, pride, external expectations – what is left?

 

Desires are temporary, needs – permanent. While the former can be compensation or escape, the latter are the basis of our inner wholeness.

 

In this part of the workshop, we will work with art therapy techniques to explore our inner needs and give space to what is waiting to be heard.

 

Through drawing, symbols and metaphors, we will create visual reflections of our unconscious needs. The creative process will help us to remove defenses, give form to our feelings and illuminate those aspects of ourselves that usually remain in the shadows.

 

What will we explore together?

✨ What messages do the Sun and Moon bring in our natal chart?

✨ What is the difference between desires and needs?

✨ How can we connect with our authentic needs and take care of them?

✨ What prevents us from manifesting our true essence and showing it to the world?

 

This workshop is for you if:

✔️ You are interested in astrology and the archetypal meaning of the planets in your natal chart.

✔️ You are interested in art therapy and want to explore yourself in a creative way.

 

🌀 Each participant will receive a paper copy of their natal chart with a personal examination of the relationship between the Sun and the Moon.

Who are the presenters?

✨ Daniela Vitanova is an astrologer, mother of three children and researcher of family dynamics through the prism of astropsychology. She consults in the areas of partnership relationships, medical astrology and psychosomatics, career and vocation. Her favorite part of her work is children's astrology, with which she helps parents find the right approach to their children and establish a better relationship.

 

✨ Irena Lazarova is a psychologist, art therapist and artist. Her work is dedicated to showing the power of art as a means of inspiration and transformation. Irena draws inspiration from her personal story and life journey.
