For the first time in their nearly 50-year careers, legendary guitar virtuosos Joe Satriani and Steve Vai are joining forces in a new group – SATCHVAI Band. Their summer tour “Surfing with the Hydra Tour 2025” will start on June 13 and will go through the biggest stages and festivals in Europe. And Sofia is also on its route - on July 22, 2025, in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture!

 

A unique opportunity for fans

The tour is relatively short, only a month and a half (until August 1, 2025), so it was truly lucky to be able to get a concert date in Bulgaria and give rock fans the chance to witness this historic event. SATCHVAI Band promises a powerful show that will unite the best of the musical heritage of the two geniuses - from virtuoso solos to emotional compositions that left their mark on the history of rock.

 

Musical evolution and long-standing friendship

Joe Satriani and Steve Vai have known each other since their youth, when Satriani was Vai's guitar teacher. Since then, their paths have intertwined through joint tours, projects and a shared passion for the electric guitar. The creation of SATCHVAI Band marks the culmination of their musical friendship.

 

In 2024, the two presented their first joint single - "The Sea of ​​Emotion, Pt. 1", which showed their incomparable musical synergy. Their second joint work will be released shortly before the start of the tour, raising expectations for this epic project.

 

Legends for each other

"Every time we play together, I remember how as teenagers we lived and breathed music," says Satriani. “This show will be a celebration of everything we love about guitar.”

“Joe is my favorite jam guitarist,” adds Vai. “This is a chance to share the magic we create with fans live.”

 

Worldwide fame and lasting legacy

Joe Satriani has sold over 10 million albums, has 15 Grammy nominations, and is the creator of the iconic G3 tour. Steve Vai, with three Grammys and over 15 million copies sold, is known to fans for projects like Generation Axe and his collaborations with music giants like Whitesnake and Frank Zappa.
