Takamaka Rum: The Spirit of Seychelles in Every Drop
Takamaka is born and produced on the island of Mahé, Seychelles, where the tropical climate, local sugar cane and Creole culture are part of its character. One of the distinctive aspects of Takamaka is the combination of different types of rum – distilled in a pot still, as well as in a column still and subsequently aged in oak barrels. This allows for freshness, aroma and depth to be obtained at the same time.
We will taste 5 drinks x 20 ml.
The master class will start with Takamaka White Rum, the foundation of the Takamaka range and a great introduction to its characteristic style and specific origin.
Then you will touch the unique St André Series: the Extra Noir, Kreol Cask, Zepis Kreol and Grankaz rums, which use different casks and aging techniques.
Each rum has its own character and history, making the range the perfect way to embark on a journey through the world of Takamaka – from its roots to its most refined creations.
Speaker: Nicolas D'Offé, part of the family that created the brand and responsible for the development of the brand in European markets. He was attracted to work at the company by his cousins in 2022 and will tell us about how Takamaka transformed from a small family-run Seychellois distillery into an international premium rum brand in less than 5 years.
Admission: 29 Euro
The master class will have English translation.
