The Letters We Didn’t Read

 

When you stand in front of a blank page, the world around you disappears and you are left alone – along with the words and emotions waiting to be released. In the cozy atmosphere of Mechtalište, we will share this inner world and connect through the stories we create.

 

At the third writing soiree, an old letter, written over 50 years ago by a stranger, will open the door to dozens of untold stories within ourselves. To it will be added a surreal and emotional condition, drawn from the moment, which will provoke creative and emotional responses capable of bringing the letter to life today within an hour.

 

The purpose of our creative soirees is not to learn how to write, nor to criticize ourselves. They are a space in which we can unlock our creativity through creative challenges, to experiment and support each other as a community. Each story that appears on the page is a small celebration of imagination and what we can discover within ourselves.

6:45 PM–7:00 PM – Announcement of the creative challenge

7:00 PM–8:00 PM – Time to write in a calm and supportive atmosphere

8:00 PM–9:30 PM – Reading and sharing of what you have written

After the event – ​​feedback and writing guidelines, if you wish

 

🖋️ Host: Writer Lyubel Djakof, author of two published poetry collections (“Storylines” and "Embryo of Sadness") and recently completed her third book, part of which was written at the creative evenings at Le Soleil. Lubel is a winner of literary competitions, and her poetry has been published in international magazines. Her mission is to stimulate people to write more and sublimate their pain into art.
