ENIGMA returns to Sofia with a completely new, magical spectacle

The new production and visual show captivate audiences across Europe

On March 12, 2025, Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture will be enveloped by the mystique of the legendary music project ENIGMA! For the second time, Original Enigma Voices will appear before the Bulgarian audience, but this time - with a completely new visual and musical concept that will take viewers on an unforgettable journey.

A little history

ENIGMA is a music project created in 1990 by Romanian-German producer Michael Cretu. It has over 70 million in sales, with their first album - "MCMXC a.D." (1990), with hits such as "Sadeness (Part I)" and "Return to Innocence", becoming a global phenomenon and leaving an indelible mark on the music industry. The subsequent albums “The Cross of Changes” (1993) and “Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi!” (1996) also achieved huge success. ENIGMA's sound is unique with its synthesis of Gregorian choir singing, ethnic motifs, worldbeat, new age, organ and other musical elements, which create an atmospheric and sometimes psychedelic sound. New albums and compilations continued to be released between 2000 and 2018, but the project, conceived in a purely studio format, never went on stage to perform.

The voices that conquered the world

From 1990 to 2001 "the voice of Enigma" is the German disco superstar Sandra (Kretu's wife until 2007, when they divorced), but after her final withdrawal from the project and many personal rotations in the lineup, the leading vocalists with their own bright signature remain two:

Angel X (Andy Jonas, Andreas Harde) - Sandra's former backing vocalist, who became legendary with her vocals in "Return to Innocence", and

Fox Lima (Alise Ketnere), an amazing Latvian singer who sang the magical interpretations of "Social Song", "Age of Loneliness" and "Beyond the Invisible".

With them in 2019, ENIGMA's music first appears on stage - in a major world tour under the title "Original Enigma Voices". The concerts from 2020 to 2023 are very successful, but the creative team feels that the time has come for something different.

A new chapter in the history of ENIGMA

Created by DC Music and produced by Jens Gad, a long-time collaborator of Michael Cretu, as well as a member of ENIGMA (guitarist and composer), the show continues by returning to the roots of ENIGMA's iconic sound.

"We went back to the essence of ENIGMA's music - its mystical and atmospheric nature - after realizing that previous live productions did not fully capture the soul of these compositions. - explains Jens Gad. - By 'stripping off the excess noise' we returned to the roots of what made ENIGMA so extraordinary. And so we opened a new chapter." This includes the elimination of the string orchestra, new choreographies, a new light and visual concept... in short: A WHOLE NEW POINT OF VIEW AND A NEW SHOW.

A unique visual experience

Accompanied by a mesmerizing choir, dance troupe and magical light show, this two-hour experience will breathe new life into ENIGMA's greatest hits and immerse us in the authentic sound that made the project a global phenomenon. And if you listened to them in 2023 - now you will have the rare opportunity to follow the new artistic approach of the creators in the dynamic interval of two years.

Skip the ordinary. Experience the magical.
