OCD Day in SHTRAK

OCD DAY at Shtrak is a one-day event for people with OCD, their loved ones, and anyone who wants to better understand the condition beyond the clichés.

On 25 April, from 10:00 to 18:00, we will gather at Shtrak for a day dedicated to understanding, connection, and support. We have prepared a program that combines useful information, personal stories, interactive formats, and space to meet other people walking a similar path.

The program will include:
— an interactive game, “OCD: Myths vs Reality,” where together we will explore some of the most common misconceptions about OCD and talk about what the condition actually looks like
— a short presentation on OCD in popular culture, focusing on how OCD is often portrayed in films, TV series, and online spaces, and what in those portrayals is accurate and what is not
— a theoretical introduction, an ERP demonstration, and a Q&A with a therapist, where we will look at what OCD is, how Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) works, what the relationship between therapist and client looks like in the therapeutic process, and how this approach is applied in practice through clear and relatable examples
— personal stories and a moderated discussion, where people with lived experience will share their journey, the difficulties they have gone through, and the things that have helped them
— parallel tracks for people with OCD and for their loved ones — a peer support group for people with OCD, held in a safer and more structured format, and a separate talk, “How to support a loved one with OCD without giving reassurance,” focused on how loved ones can help without unintentionally reinforcing the symptoms
— a small cause-based bazaar, with opportunities to donate, support the association, and become a member

There will also be time for lunch, calmer conversations, and a final symbolic surprise segment.
