The Bulgarian Theatre "Otrazhe" was founded in 2018 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The idea of the team is to create a vibrant, contemporary, professional theatre; to provide diverse, educational and provocative theatre events for the Bulgarian community in Toronto and other cities in Canada and the USA.

 

The main priority in the activities of the Theatre "Otrazhe" is to preserve and

 

promote Bulgarian culture and creativity, to uphold the preservation of

 

the uniqueness of our language and to involve the young generation of Bulgarians born in Canada.

 

Since its establishment, the Theatre "Otrazhe" has focused on classical and

 

contemporary Bulgarian drama and invites established Bulgarian directors to achieve high artistic value of its production. The troupe has performed numerous times on various stages in Canada, the USA and Bulgaria.

 

"ALWAYS READY!" is a retro comedy in which the inhabitants of the People's Republic of Bulgaria are gathered in one classroom, and laughing out loud leads to a decrease in behavior. A cascade of comic situations about life in the 80s, in which we can look for answers to the questions: who ate the fruits for the still life in the drawing class, how the military science teacher leads geography, singing and physical education in one lesson and who will be sent to the moon, as well as what to do with the voice mutation when we are in love? And the very important question: how to find the local "super talent" who will represent Bulgaria to the world?

The Drama Award of the International Festival "New Bulgarian Drama".
