What is happening to the climate in Varna and the country and how is the Black Sea changing?

Welcome to the first event for the general public at "Science Square", with the special assistance of the Golden Sheep.

 

On February 13, we celebrate World Radio Day, which this year is dedicated to climate change. On this day, Science Square has invited especially for you Dr. Emil Ivanov NIMH - Varna and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Preslav Peev Institute of Oceanology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences to tell you more about the climate in the country and the Black Sea coast, what we expect in the future and how this affects biodiversity and us, the residents of Varna. The event will include two short presentations of up to 30 minutes, followed by a moderated discussion with questions from the publication.

 

Science Square is a newly established foundation for the public benefit, the numerical mission of which is to increase public awareness on a number of important topics, such as increasing scientific knowledge and emphasizing people's critical thinking. It is arranged in August 2024 in the city of Varna by several young enthusiasts, also experienced in science communication, who aim to bring the scientific world closer to the general public and to offer a platform for active dialogue in an understandable language between the two.

 

This is the first public event in an ambitious program of regular monthly meetings with specialists from various fields of science and technology, and the goal is all those who have completed their education and are developing in other specialties, but continue to seek new knowledge and curious facts. With such events, the organization seeks to provoke interest in those who are not often interested in both the natural environment surrounding them and beyond the borders of our small planet.
