On 3 December 2026 (the first Thursday of the final month of the year) the young lion of contemporary Tuareg music, Kader Tarhanine, will take the stage at Mixtape 5 with his band for his first-ever concert in Bulgaria!

Kader Tarhanine's songs are a hypnotic crossover of desert blues, traditional Saharan rhythms and powerful rock 'n' roll guitars, led by one of the most beautiful contemporary voices in West Africa!

One of the most-listened-to bands among young people across the Sahara, Kader and his musicians follow in the footsteps of Tinariwen, Bombino, Tamikrest, Imarhan and Mdou Moctar, taking contemporary Tuareg music into new, more universal and unexplored territories. Kader first reached a wider audience a little over a decade ago with the song Tarhanine Tegla ("My Love Is Gone")—the greatest hit of his former band, Afous D'Afous, formed in Tamanrasset, southern Algeria:

Through their energetic live performances and undeniable musical skill, Kader Sabou "Tarhanine" and his musicians have won audiences beyond the Sahara and are confidently making their mark on the European scene. Following their first tours across Africa and Europe, Kader Tarhanine have already been recognised as one of the most influential voices of their generation.

Their live and studio collaborations with some of Mali's most renowned artists, including Fatoumata Diawara and Sidiki Diabaté, have also established Kader Tarhanine as ambassadors of peace between the northern and southern parts of the country, which remain divided by political conflicts to this day.

Having become a symbol of the young Tuareg generation, Kader Tarhanine presents the renewed, poetic and romantic spirit of the Sahara to the world.

The concert is presented by Alarma Jazz Punk and VAST Entertainment and marks the first co-production between the two organisations in the history of Sofia's and Bulgaria's independent music scene.

The band will perform with the following line-up:

Abd Elkadir Sabou – guitar and lead vocals
Mohammed Zenani – guitar and vocals
Mohamed Alhousseini – drums, djembe and vocals
Drissa Kone – bass guitar and vocals
