Influential avant-garde artist Jarboe and former member of the legendary Swans, returns to Sofia on May 25, 2026, to present a truly unique and powerful collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Thor Harris (former member of Swans, Shearwater) and vocalist/composer Joy Von Spain (Eye Of Nix).

 

Jarboe’s live performance is a captivating experience, built over decades of music, constantly expanding its boundaries and drawing inspiration from her extensive catalog of industrial, experimental and atmospheric works. The trio will also debut two ambient tracks from her upcoming album “Sightings”. The performance is a unique combination of ritual, sound and raw emotion, presenting three distinct voices from the experimental underground working in transformative harmony.

 

Jarboe is a multi-faceted artist, valued for her captivating vocal style, her ethereal works and her unwavering dedication to music. Known for her pivotal role in the experimental rock band Swans, and with a career spanning four decades of groundbreaking solo and collaborative projects, she has continually expanded and reinvented her artistic boundaries. Beyond music, her creative endeavors extend into the worlds of visual art, literature, and sound, cementing her position as a rare and ever-evolving artistic force.

 

Thor Harris is a multi-instrumentalist, artist, and craftsman known for his versatility and distinctive contributions to a variety of musical projects. Percussionist in Swans (2010–2016), he has played with artists such as Shearwater (2001–2010), Bill Callahan, The Angels of Light, Lisa Germano, Yonatan Gat, Gretchen Phillips, Devendra Banhart, Rebecca Cannon, Xiu Xiu, Flock of Dimes & Amanda Palmer, Whalesong, and Grand Theft Orchestra. Harris has contributed to Jarboe’s upcoming new album, due out in late winter 2026 via the iconic Belgian label Consouling Sounds.

 

Joy Von Spain is a vocalist, keyboardist, and contemporary classical composer from Seattle, Washington who also works as an artist mentor. She is known for her collaborations with Masaki Satsu in 100Pieces and the collective Danse Perdue, and is a member of To End It All, Eye of Nix, and Eight Balls.
