Hamraaz is a duo that weaves together the beauty of the modal music traditions of Iran and Armenia with a contemporary sound.
Formed at Codarts Conservatory in the Netherlands, the collaboration between Lucie Lelaurain (duduk, flute) and Khorshid Dadbeh (tanbour, tar) has grown into a profound musical dialogue. Their music blends the haunting breath of the Armenian duduk and flute with the vibrant pulse of Iranian string instruments, creating soundscapes that are both timeless and modern.
The duo is driven by the concept to create the music of modern society through the language of modal and makam traditions, bridging cultures and histories while shaping something entirely new. Their concerts are immersive journeys—vibrant, meditative, and deeply human.
Their debut album Abr (“clouds” in Farsi), released in 2023, was inspired by their strong connection to nature. Hamraaz is now preparing their second album, set for release in 2025, and audiences in Sofia will have the opportunity to hear some of this new sound.
This is Hamraaz’s second visit to Bulgaria, following their concerts in Sofia and Strandzha in 2024. Inspired by the Bulgarian landscape, Lucie and Khorshid will also be filming new video projects during their stay here.
Join us through soundscapes where East meets West, carrying listeners into a world of reflection, depth, and connection with nature.
