FOUR of A KIND //NEW ALBUM PROMO// - Jazz Club "In Jazz"

The new Bulgarian jazz-rock band 4 OF A KIND has officially released its first single. The song “Pale Man” is accompanied by a video shot by Petar Dimov “Bulgarevetsa” at the capital’s Patches Blues Bar, where the band’s story begins.

 

4 OF A KIND was formed quite spontaneously after an incident and the band’s inability to perform on stage at Patches Blues Bar, as planned. Bonzi Georgiev, Miro Naydenov and Vihren Paunov responded and patched up the situation with their improvisations on favorite songs and instrumentals. After the extremely positive reviews, they received invitations to play together again and were joined by Ivo Paunov, who had just returned to Bulgaria after periods in Canada and the Netherlands. Thus, to the traditional drums, bass and guitar, they added saxophone and keyboards. This allowed the band to unleash its potential, composing new material that would become their debut album. The premiere of which we will hear on 17.10 at the jazz club "V Jazza".

 

The name of the group comes from a term in poker, which means four cards of the same kind, but with different suits. In the same way, each of the four in 4 OF A KIND brings his color and experience in different styles of music - from jazz to rock and from blues to metal, and when they get together, they handle all the other colors and shades in the musical palette.

Vihren Paunov

 

Vihren Paunov is a bassist, composer, singer and producer. He has played with various bands in Canada and Bulgaria and has created theater and film music. In Ontario, he was part of several blues and rock bands, Acid Folk Five and others. In Toronto, he played with the band Afrodisiac, as well as wrote music for theater productions. In Bulgaria, he is an active performer on the music scene. Vihren is also the author of numerous songs.

 

Miroslav Naydenov

 

Miroslav Naydenov is one of the brightest guitarists in Bulgaria. With extensive experience in various styles, he has played with many Bulgarian and foreign musicians. In parallel with his teaching activities, he actively participates in various musical projects and concerts - Miro Naydenov Band, Gary Moore Tribute Band, where he also performs as a singer. Over the years, he has played with Kamen Katsata Band, Blues Stream, GMO - Georgi Minchev Orchestra and others.

 

Ivo Paunov

 

Ivo Paunov is a composer, music producer and saxophonist. After completing his education in Canada and the Netherlands, he returned to Bulgaria, where he created his own musical projects. His music has been heard in films, theater productions and video games. Ivo Paunov is known for his experimental approach and ability to combine different musical styles. Author of music for string orchestra, big band, choir and jazz bands.

 

Boyan "Bonzy" Georgiev

 

Born into a musical family, Bonzy started playing as a child. He is one of the founders of the band "Kaskadyori", which took its first steps playing with Vasko "Krupkata", and after years became one of the most established metal bands in Bulgaria - Odd Crew. Since 2008, already under the name Odd Crew, they have released eight studio albums. They play at many festivals, realize dozens of successful headline tours and have been special guests at concerts in the largest hall in Bulgaria - Arena Sofia on many occasions. They have opened concerts for Pantera, Five Finger Death Punch, etc. Bonzy is the founder of the Bonzy Drum School, as well as the organizer of Sofia Drum Fest.
