The Enneagram - Psychological Types as Movie Characters

What makes us react differently in similar situations?

Why do some people seek security, others recognition, others freedom,

control or closeness?

 

The Enneagram is a personality cognition system that describes nine

interrelated types. Each of them has its own characteristic motivations,

fears, beliefs and ways of interacting with others.

 

During the lecture, we will get acquainted with the nine Ennea-types,

using familiar characters from cinema and literature. Through their

stories, we will trace how our inner beliefs influence the way

we make decisions, enter into conflicts, create relationships and

deal with difficulties.

 

Cinema gives us the opportunity to observe these psychological models

in action. We will examine how the different types can

be recognized in the behavior of film characters and how their motivations

shape their character, relationships and development in the story.

 

The meeting is suitable for people interested in psychology and

self-knowledge, as well as for lovers of cinema, characters and

storytelling.

Mirela Vasileva is an author and lecturer in the field of cinema, character psychology and film narrative. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from the National Academy of Dramatic Arts and Film Studies "Krustyo Sarafov" and holds a doctorate from the Southwestern University "Neofit Rilski". She is the author of lectures dedicated to the psychological types of Jung and Myers-Briggs, the Enneagram, archetypes, love relationships and the main plot models in cinema. Her book "Scandinavian Cinema - Styles and Motifs" has been nominated by the "Criticism" guild of the Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers in the "Book or Theoretical Text" category for the "Vasil Gendov" Awards 2026.
