On January 23, 2027, the audience in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture will have the opportunity to relive the most memorable moments from the legendary films Fantasia (1940) and Fantasia 2000. Selected scenes from both films will be projected on a large high-definition screen, while a symphony orchestra performs the music live in full synchronization with the image on the screen.

The program includes some of the most beloved works in the history of classical music, including Beethoven's "Pastoral Symphony", Debussy's "Moonlight", Ponchielli's "Dance of the Hours", Elgar's "Pomp and Occasion", Respighi's "Pinions of Rome", Paul Duca's "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" and many more.

When released in 1940, Fantasia became Walt Disney's most daring and innovative project. The film realized his dream of uniting classical music and animation into a single work of art. The original soundtrack was recorded by the Philadelphia Orchestra under the baton of Leopold Stokowski in the revolutionary stereophonic format for its time. Originally conceived as a short film starring Mickey Mouse, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" became one of the most influential animated films in the history of cinema.

Walt Disney's idea of ​​developing Fantasia as a series of new musical episodes came to fruition nearly six decades later with the release of Fantasia 2000. Produced at the instigation of his nephew Roy E. Disney, the film presents a new collection of musical masterpieces performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the baton of James Levine.
