Tribute to the legendary DEATH and the music of Chuck Schuldiner

DEATH TO ALL is a project dedicated to the legacy of the cult death metal band DEATH and its founder Chuck Schuldiner – one of the most influential figures in the history of heavy music. The original band DEATH was formed in 1984 in Florida under the name Mantas and is among the founders of the death metal sound.

 

After the end of DEATH in 2001 and the tragic loss of Chuck Schuldiner, DEATH TO ALL was born as a project that preserves and presents live the music and spirit of the band. The lineup includes original members of DEATH: legendary drummer Gene Hoglan (Dark Angel, Dethklok), bassist Steve DiGiorgio (Testament, Sadus) and guitarist Bobby Koelble (participant in the album Symbolic), along with vocalist and guitarist Max Phelps (Exist, ex-Cynic).

 

DEATH TO ALL are coming to Sofia for a solo concert with a clear and conceptual focus on two of the most pivotal albums in Death’s history – Spiritual Healing (1990) and Symbolic (1995). The tour marks 35 years since the release of Spiritual Healing and 30 years since Symbolic – records that marked the evolution of extreme metal from raw aggression to intellectual and technical depth. The audience can expect iconic compositions such as “Living Monstrosity”, “Within the Mind”, “Spiritual Healing”, as well as Symbolic classics such as “Symbolic”, “Crystal Mountain”, “Zero Tolerance” and “Empty Words” – songs that are still among the most listened to and influential in Death’s catalog today.

 

“Chuck’s legacy will always live on,” says Gene Hoglan. “It is an honor and a pleasure for us to play this music and present it with the respect and energy it deserves.” Steve DiGiorgio adds that DEATH TO ALL is not just a throwback to the past, but a continuation of something significant: “This is a way to carry forward the music we created over 25 years ago, with the same dedication and conviction.”

 

DEATH TO ALL is a project established as one of the most authentic and respected celebrations of the classic death metal era, combining historical value and uncompromising live performance. The Bulgarian audience already had the opportunity to experience the power of this project in April 2016, when DEATH TO ALL literally burst the capital’s Mixtape 5 club at the seams. Now it’s time for it to happen again – this time at Joy Station, on Friday night, June 12.
