Dance Frame Fest 26'

Dance Frame Fest 26’ returns for a second edition in Sofia between 🗓 March 13 and 17, 2026. The festival brings together young names from the contemporary dance scene, focusing on 🌎 international exchange, meetings between artists and building a sustainable network of professional contacts. Dance Frame Fest creates a space for 👀 sharing artistic practices, dialogue and observation of different approaches to the body, movement and stage.

 

💭 This year’s edition of the festival is developed in three main project lines 👉 Performance Evenings, Open Classes and the new educational program Dance Frame Writing Academy.

 

📣📣📣 Within the framework of Performance Evenings, on March 14, 16 and 17 from 7:30 p.m. at Scena Derida, the audience will have the opportunity to watch 9 dance performances by artists from 8 countries, presenting a variety of aesthetics, formats and artistic perspectives.

📣📣📣 Between March 13 and 17, every day from 10:00 to 13:00, Dance Frame Fest 26’ offers Open Classes, led by all the international choreographers, part of the festival program. Classes will be in English and are suitable for participants with an intermediate / advanced level, with an interest in contemporary dance and international exchange of practices.

 

📣📣📣 Dance Frame Fest 26’ also presents its new project line Dance Frame Writing Academy, implemented with mentor Kosta Karakashyan. The first edition of the program takes place between March 1 and 19, 2026 and is aimed at the development of young dance critics. The academy combines online sessions and live meetings, performance observation, critical writing and the creation of texts or podcast episodes, which will be published with the support of the DFWA team.
