Berlin-based post-punk and E.B.M. sensation Curses will perform their electrifying show at Mixtape 5 on February 18, 2025, as part of a European tour in support of their latest album Another Heaven.
Released on October 25th via the legendary Italians Do It Better label (Desire, Joon, and more), the album features collaborations with Marie Davidson and Skelesis, and continues to define Curses’ unique style of dark, romantic new wave and melancholic post-punk.
With a sound rooted in the melancholy of 80s goth culture and the DIY energy of early electronic body music, Curses combines cinematic textures with enigmatic guitars, haunting vocals, and pulsating basslines. Their live performances, performed as a duo – Luca Venezia on guitar and vocals, and Dame Bonet on bass – offer an unforgettable experience that blends album material with spontaneous experimentalism inspired by krautrock.
The new album Another Heaven follows a series of acclaimed releases, including the singles “H2SG”, “Caviar”, “Elegant Death” and the self-titled song “Another Heaven”. Known for their genre-neutral approach, Curses have impressed with music used in campaigns for Saint Laurent, Dior and Calvin Klein, as well as releases on labels such as Permanent Vacation, Bordello A Parigi and Oráculo Records.
Curses’ global impact is just as strong live, having played at iconic festivals and venues around the world, including Berghain (Berlin), Nuits Sonores (Lyon) and Ombra Festival (Barcelona). They have shared stages with pioneers such as Nitzer Ebb, Alessandro Cortissi and Charlotte Adige, cementing their place in the contemporary new wave and E.B.M. scene.
