Balkan mysteries at Sofia Live Club

“Balkan Riddles” is a concert featuring original arrangements and original music.

The music is built around the idea of storytelling without words, where melody becomes memory and rhythm becomes ritual. The first part of the concert is instrumental, featuring Zhivko Vasilev on kaval, Chris Korat on piano, and Damir Mazrek on percussion. In the second part, vocalist Rayna Vasileva joins in, her voice adding extra emotional depth and poetic nuance to the musical narrative.

Zhivko Vasilev is among the most popular kaval players in Bulgaria. He is widely recognized both in Bulgaria and across Europe for his constant experimentation and his pursuit of new and unexplored musical paths.

Harmelogic – Kris Korat and Damir Mazrek from Slovenia – deliver a virtuosic blend of rhythm and harmony, inspired by Balkan folk music and enriched with jazz elements.

Rayna Vasileva is a Bulgarian vocal performer and educator, active in folklore, pop, and jazz music. She possesses a distinctive and recognizable voice that adds a powerful and unique character to the project.
