21K Marathon Plovdiv

Athens, Rome, Jerusalem – we all know where these cities are, we recognize their majesty and ancient glory. What about a city older than every one of them, the city where the modern European civilization was born, a contemporary city of Troy and Mycenae?

 

This is Plovdiv – the Europe’s oldest inhabited city and one of the six oldest cities in the world!

 

Date and time

The Half Marathon starts at 8.00 am on Sunday, April 29, 2018.

 

Registration fee and information

• 15 EUR from September 11, 2017 to February 1, 2018
• 20 EUR from February 1, 2018 to March 31, 2018

Registration is possible only online until 23.59 GMT on March 31, 2018, after that Registration closes. After you read and agree with the Competition’s Rules click the Registration button to provide your data and pay your participation. The payment of your Registration fee is possible either by bank transfer or by credit card. Please note that you will not be notified by e-mail for confirmation of your participation. You should check your status in the List of Registered participants.

 

Business package / Team registration (3 or more runners)                 13€ (Sptember 11, 2017 – March 31, 2018)

In order to use the Business package option, please e-mail us at: [email protected] and we will send you a code for registration. The payment of the Registration fee for all participants must be done in one installment.

 

Prize fund

The Half Marathon Plovdiv winners in Men’s and Women’s category will receive a money prize as follows:

I place - 800 BGN (approx. 400 €)

II place – 500 BGN (approx. 250 €)

III place – 300 BGN (approx. 150 €)

 

Time limit

The time limit is 3 (three) hours.

 

Race packages

The race package includes your bib number, timing chip, a route map, and the official marathon T-shirt. It may contain samples and advertising items, provided by sponsors.

All participants will receive their race package at the Marathon info center the day before the race. The Info center will be open from 8.00 am until 19.00. No race packages will be distributed on the race day.

 

Personal belongings

You can leave your personal belongings in the luggage zone near the Start area in a closed bag. Bringing valuables is not advised.

 

Start and Finish areas

The Start of Marathon Plovdiv & Half Marathon is at Square Central, in close proximity to the Plovdiv Municipality building. The course finishes at the same starting point. The Half Marathon course will be clearly marked and participants will be directed to their course by the marathon staff.

 

Refreshment stations

Refreshment stations with drinks, fresh and dried fruits are provided every 5 km and after the Finish line.

 

Medical info and support

Before the race, we are kindly advising you to pass a medical check. People with heart or respiratory problems should not participate in the Half Marathon. Although medical certificate will not be required, every participant is obliged to declare that his/her participation in the race does not violate a medical prescription.

During the race in case you have health problems, leave the race and ask for a medical help immediately. Medical teams for marathoners support will be located along the route at clearly indicated and visible spots.

 

Finishers’ medal

All Half Marathon finishers will receive a unique medal for their participation.
