100-th Anniversary Nat King Cole Concert:
March the 17 1919 delivered Nat King Cole into Montgomery, Alabama. His father, a Baptist Minister, introduced him to Gospel music and the rest is now history as his smooth voice and enigmatic smile charmed the world and generations to come.
His unique voice combined with the magic of his piano playing elevated him to the status of a superstar in a time when so many of his colour suffered segregation.
He outshone stars with whom he performed: Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington to name but a few.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of his birth. A time to celebrate Nathaniel Adams Cole beautiful gift that lingers in the hearts of so many.
